Introducing Project Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming...
I hope you enjoyed Paul Hawken's** video yesterday. Did it open up a feeling of possibility for you? (It's a vital part of this series so if you haven't had a chance to watch it, go do that now here. )
Remember: the goal of this series is first, for you to see the possibility of REVERSING global warming, and second, to see that you have an important role to play in that process.
Project Drawdown offers a fundamental shift in our understanding of what’s possible.
What is Drawdown? "Drawdown is the point in time when the concentration of atmospheric greenhouse gases begins to decline on a year-to-year basis." (from www.drawdown.org)
Project Drawdown has identified and modeled the 93 most substantive solutions to address global warming and demonstrates that we can begin to turn the situation around by 2050 with existing technologies. The net message: The sooner we begin, the better. These solutions address the energy we use, the food we eat, how we travel, and more
Day 6 Action: Investigate Drawdown
1. What will "bend the curve?" Watch the first 8:16 minutes of this TED Talk (Don't worry, we'll watch the remainder in a few days):
2. Check out the Project Drawdown website here and begin by visiting the Solutions Library. Click on the Table of Solutions. A list of solutions pops up.
3. Notice how many of these solutions can be accomplished locally or regionally! Next, notice what interests or even excites you.
4. Explore. Play with this list. And notice. Is this what possibility feels like?
