What Can One Person Do?
30 Days of Climate Action and Inspiration
Feed what you want to grow Attention When I was 9 years old , my next door neighbor, an avid gardener, brought me some compost and really smelly stuff he called "fish fertilizer." He mixed it in water and showed me how to water my pumpkin seedlings with it. He said "In a garden we feed what we want to grow" In a few short weeks, my pumpkin plants were HUGE I realized that the best way to garden was to create conditions the plants like and allow them to grow. Feed what you want to grow--it is a lot like this principle from Will Keepin's Principles of Spiritual Leadership: "What you attend to, you become. If you constantly attend to battles, you become embattled. On the other hand, if you constantly give love, you become loving. We must choose wisely what we attend to, because it shapes and defines us deeply." What we feed is a choice.
TODAY'S ACTION: Pay attention to what you attend to today. Are you feeding what you want to grow? Much love, Denise
